Malham makes a perfect base to start exploring the whole of The Yorkshire Dales and its many activities. In and around Malham alone you could spend several days exploring its magnificent limestone scenery and Tarn,or further affield are numerous small villages all with their own unique charm.
Historic towns such as Harrogate and York are close enough to visit for the day whilst still giving you a scenic drive.
Arguably the countries most famous walk, The Pennine Way, passes through Malham and other well known walks include the Three Peaks & the Dales Way (www.ramblers.org.uk). But the area has more to offer than just its superb walks. Some of the most demanding climbing in Europe is a short walk away.
Malham is an ideal base for Mountain Biking with some of the finest rides in the UK, and The Lister Arms have a number of good quality mountain bikes for hire. If you would prefer to explore the bridleways by horseback then the local Trekking Centre is open throughout the year and caters for all levels.
Other activities which we would be glad to provide details on are Paragliding, Kiting and Caving. |
